Earlier today TAG Heuer announced a partnership with Oracle Racing in its bid to defend the America’s Cup in 2013. The new partnership will see Oracle Racing’s captain and crew outfitted with TAG Heuer timepieces as they compete for the Cup, as well as the brand’s line of avant-garde style eyewear. TAG Heuer partnered with the ORACLE Racing team in their 2003 bid to win the America’s Cup. “We’re proud to be back on board with Oracle Racing,” said Jean-Christophe Babin, praising Oracle’s might on the water and comparing the successful sailing team to TAG Heuer’s automotive partners, Vodafone McLaren Mercedes and Audi. Oracle crew members Jimmy Spithill and Russell Coutts will join TAG Heuer’s impressive list of brand ambassadors, which includes Lewis Hamilton and Jenson Button. At the press conference, the new ambassadors were spotted wearing the Team USA edition of the Aquaracer 500 meters.
