Namco Bandai has announced the release date for Ridge Racer Unbounded. The renown Ridge Racer series is rolling in a new wave of chaos to the world of in-game mayhem, come spring of 2012. Set to release on March 6th, Ridge Racer Unbounded will bring full environmental and vehicular destruction into your hands. The arcade handling and drifting elements that have become a trademark of the series will combine with explosives, bringing this classic game to a different level entirely. There is a whole new selection of cars, including some sick vintage muscles, and you can cruise through every block of Shatter Bay in the most volatile racing game of 2012 available on the PS3, Xbox 360, or PC. In the single player mode, you have to wow the leader of the Unbounded gang, Kara Shindo, in order to build up your vital reputation in the streets – and you do it with massive amounts of destruction. In Domination Race it’s your job to put an end to everything in your way, from casual traffic to your opponents. Survival Race gives the player one car and one chance to win the race, and to do it without demolishing yourself. The other modes available let you focus on taking out the enemy, drifting and dueling. There is also the option of taking the race to the streets against others in a number of online multiplayer modes – including the ability to race in cities built by other players using the City Creator. “Ridge Racer Unbounded brings the high-octane racing that the series is known for and injects new layers of destruction and carnage to the already intense formula,” says Carlson Choi, vice president of Marketing, Namco Bandai Games America. “With the new sophisticated City Creator, fans can easily create an unlimited number of tracks and share them with their friends for limitless replay value.”
