Ridley Scott Confirms New 'Blade Runner' Will Be A Sequel

RIDLEY Scott has seemingly confirmed that the announced Blade Runner follow-up will be a sequel. The 73-year-old director spoke to The Wall Street Journal's Speakeasy blog and confirmed work is continuing on the sci-fi project. "[It's] liable to be a sequel," Scott confirmed. "I think I'm close to finding a writer that might be able to help me deliver," he revealed. "We're quite a long way in actually." Scott also commented on whether original Blade Runner star Harrison Ford would reprise his role as Rick Deckard. "No, not really," Scott added. "Not with the past cast." The director recently finished filming on his latest sci-fi project Prometheus, starring Charlize Theron, Noomi Rapace and Michael Fassbender.
