"The Goon" Will Be Released In 2011!

Eric Powell, the award-winning cartoonist began writing The Goon ten years ago, and a movie will soon be hitting theaters! It's a full length CGI movie, produced by David Fincher (you might know him as the director of Fight Club). Voices so far are: The Goon: Clancy Brown and Frankie: Paul Giamatti!! Other voices and technical details are hush-hush for now. It will be released in 2011!
Created in 1999, the Goon was a cult hit series that went on to build a devoted band of followers in much the same way that Mike Mignola’s Hellboy had. The series is renowned for its combination of horror, violence and humor all conveyed in a wonderfully crafted and stunning style. Powell’s Goon has survived a unique publication history starting with Avatar Press and then moving into self-publishing before being picked up by Dark Horse Press in 2003. The entire 20 issues have been collected in ten trade paperback editions (including collection zero containing the initial Avatar Press run) and an original hardcover graphic novel, Chinatown. More recently, the series was collected in deluxe hardbound editions titled ‘Fancy Pants Edition’ 1, 2 and 3.
