Designed by Studio mk27, the Toblerone House is located in Sao Paulo,
Brazil. Three horizontal concrete planes create a simple structure with
two distinct spaces. The ground level is designed for entertaining, with
glass walls interspersed with slender steel columns to minimise
obstruction of the view out into the garden. Mindful of the humidity and
heat that is characteristic of the city of Sao Paulo, the upper level
is wrapped in retractable screens of wooden slats, encouraging lots of
air to flow through the sleeping spaces at night and light to filter
through during the day. Simplistic and very much concerned with its
surroundings, the Toblerone House is yet another stunning example of
Brazilian residential architecture.
