Divers Plunge 92ft In Red Bull Diving Series

A daunting 'blowhole' on the Aran Islands known as the Serpent's Lair was the venue for the latest round in the Red Bull Cliff Diving World Series. Despite being almost perfectly rectangular, the blowhole is a natural wonder, into which the divers plunge at over 60mph. Claiming victory in the first World Series event held in Ireland was Russian diver Artem Silchenko, with Columbian rival Orlando Duque in second place. Speaking after the event, Mr Silchenko appeared undaunted by the scale of the challenge he had faced. "Like every time. I think, I dive, I work - I am happy".
