Puritalia, a new Italian car maker, has unveiled its first car and
named it the 427. The car incorporates Italian design with American
muscle philosophy, says the company. The car is expected to be launched
in 2013. "We decided to design and engineer the 427 simply because a similar
car doesn't exist. It is unique in design, in style, and most
importantly in the way we build it. As in the past, simplicity was the
idea behind the development of the true 2-seat sports car leaving exotic
and extreme solutions out of the equation,” said Paolo Parente,
Founder, Puritalia. The 427 pays homage to the legendary Shelby Cobra 427. It is a
two-seater, open top, light weight car which has a 5-litre V8 engine
bolted on. The 427 features an aluminum chassis for high torsional
rigidity, composite and carbon fiber body panels, independents double
wishbone suspension, adjustable shock absorbers, a 6-speed manual
gearbox and a limited slip differential.
