The Smashing Pumpkins are going to reissue their first two albums, 1991′s Gish and 1993′s Siamese Dream, on November 29. The records have been fully remastered by engineer Bob Ludwig, and will also feature special bonus content from the band’s archive curated by frontman Billy Corgan. The albums will be available in CD, deluxe two CD/DVD package, vinyl, and digital configurations. The DVDs feature separate live performances of the band at the Metro in Chicago. The Gish bonus disc will include new Butch Vig mixes of original Sub Pop single tracks “Tristessa” and “La Dolly Vita.” Finally, both deluxe versions will also feature liner notes and track-by-track commentary by Corgan, as well as never-before-seen collages and photos, postcards and more. In an excerpt from the Siamese Dream liner notes Corgan writes, “We start the album out with ‘Cherub Rock,’ which is basically my big F.U. to the indie world. If you read the lyrics, that was basically me railing against the hipper-than-thou New York indie mentality.”
