Serge Gainsbourg Gets Reissued

Serge Gainsbourg’s 1971 concept album ‘Histoire De Melody Nelson’ will be re-released in Super Deluxe, Deluxe and Vinyl Picture formats on November 7.  Including new and unreleased material, alternative vocal takes and instrumentals, the albums also come complete with a DVD featuring music videos recorded for the original album’s seven tracks as well as a documentary featuring interviews with cover star and vocalist Jane Birkin and arranger Jean-Claude Vannier. In 2006 Jean-Claude Vannier performed the record live at London Barbican with Jarvis Cocker, Badly Drawn Boy and Gruff Rhys of Super Furry Animals filling in for Gainsbourg. Vannier also lead an all-star cast featuring Beck and Sean Lennon in a tribute to Serge Gainsbourg at the Hollywood Bowl this August.
