Los Angeles- Jani Lane, former lead singer of the 1980s glam-band Warrant, was found dead Thursday evening in Los Angeles, police said. Lane, 47, was pronounced dead by fire department personnel who responded to a call shortly before 5:30 p.m. in a hotel in the 20100 block of Ventura Boulevard, the Los Angeles Police Department said. The cause of death was unknown, and the case was turned over to the Los Angeles county coroner's office, LAPD Officer Sara Faden said. Warrant's two first albums - "Dirty Rotten Filthy Stinking Rich" in 1989 and "Cherry Pie" in 1990 - sold more than 2 million copies each, achieving double-platinum status.
