Josh Brolin To Star in "Oldboy" Remake

Josh Brolin has replaced his Men in Black 3 co-star Will Smith as the lead in Spike Lee's remake of Oldboy, according to reports. Brolin and Lee will start shooting in March, according to Deadline Hollywood, with Christian Bale also rumoured to be attached to the project. Bale would take the role of the mysterious adversary who imprisons Brolin's character in a room for 15 years, without explanation. The original Korean film, directed in 2003 by Park Chan-wook, charted the man's quest to discover the reasons and exact
revenge, while also reintegrating into society and beginning an affair with a younger woman. Steven Spielberg was previously interested in buying remake rights, and it was he who brought Smith onboard.
