Every year, nearly 2,000 companies converge on Switzerland for the
annual Baselworld Watch Fair. Representing the world’s most
well-respected and comprehensive show, each year also sees a wealth of
media outlets and channels at the show cataloging and taking stock of
the latest timepieces and industry trends. Notably, a team from Monocle
was recently in attendance for the Baselworld Watch Fair 2013
documenting the advances and releases from all of the watch companies in
attendance. One of the most anticipated debuts at the show was Rolex’s 50th Anniversary Oyster Perpetual Daytona
— a one-of-a-kind platinum edition of the celebrated model.
Highlighting heavyweights in the industry such as Patek Philippe,
Rolex, Audemars Piguet, Hublot, Omega and Tudor, the footage also
highlights relatively newer entrants to the world of watches, a few key
releases from luxury goods purveyors such as Hermés as well as touching
on overall trends in the watch industry. (hypebeast)
