Evil Dead Producer Confirms "Army Of Darkness 2"
Evil Dead producer Robert Tapert has weighed in on rumors that Sam Raimi is planning to make a fourth entry in the horror series. Tapert said that the Oz: The Great and Powerful filmmaker is hoping to make a direct sequel to 1992's Army of Darkness, Shock Til You Drop reports. "That would be Army of Darkness 2," said Tapert of Raimi's proposed film. "Everybody calls it Evil Dead 4 but Army of Darkness wasn't called Evil Dead anywhere except by the fans." Evil Dead
trilogy star Bruce Campbell said that talk of a new entry in the
original series has cropped up on numerous occasions in the past, but
did not rule out revisiting his role of Ash Williams. "Sam
threatens this every six months," said Campbell. "I've heard this a
thousand times, because in the back of his mind, he never wants to let
go, because he loved making these movies. "We all loved making
them together. They were a nightmare to make, very difficult, but they
lasted the test of time, so he's not going to let that go, and I'm never
going to say 'no'. It'll be me and a walker fighting some other old
guy. But that's what he does and who knows? It may happen." An Evil Dead series remake, directed by Fede Alvarez, arrives in cinemas on April 5. (digitalspy)
