Brewmeister Armageddon: The World’s Strongest Beer

A brewery in Scotland claimed it has produced the world’s strongest beer, Brewmeister’s Armageddon, which has an alcohol by volume (ABV) of 65 percent. Beers typically have an ABV between 3 and 10 percent. According to the Brewmeister website, the beer is made of crystal malt, wheat, flaked oats and Scottish spring water. It’s so strong because it is freeze-fermented, which entails cooling the beer to freezing temperatures. As many alcohol aficionados know, water, but not alcohol, freezes. So when the ice is removed, the world’s strongest beer is left behind. Brewmeister’s Armageddon trumps the former record-holder of the world’s strongest beer made by Brewster. The beer, called The End of History, is a blonde Belgian ale with a 55 percent ABV packaged in a stuffed animal case.
