The Porsche 918 Spyder is inching closer to production as the company
has reportedly filed a trademark for the roadster's design in China. Looking instantly recognizable, the images suggest the production model will have minor modifications over the prototypes
that are currently undergoing test. While there isn't much to see, the
car will reportedly adopt hidden door handles like the concept. We can
also see green brake calipers which were previously hinted at in a leaked brochure. The 918 Spyder is expected to feature a 4.6-liter V8
engine that develops 580 hp (432 kW) and more than 369 lb-ft (500 Nm)
of torque. The engine will be backed up by two electric motors which are
rumored to have a combined output of 245 hp (183 kW). This could enable
the model to develop approximately 795 hp (593 kW) and 575 lb-ft (780
Nm) of torque. The production version will debut in September 2013 and will be priced at about $1 million. (worldcarfans)
