TVR Unveils New Griffith
The return of TVR has been promised for some time now, but it's
looking like we finally have some traction as the newly relaunched brand
debuts the Griffith. The company aims to stay true to TVR's DNA with a
British supercar-slayer that boasts a 400-hp, Cosworth-designed 5.0L V8
with a custom clutch, flywheel, ECU, and most importantly, a six-speed
manual gearbox from Tremec. The styling is very much in line with
what we would imagine a TVR to look like and you can attribute that to
the pen of car design legend, Gordon Murray, who not only created a
design that looks good, but one that uses his iStream process to ensure
optimal rigidity and a lightweight structure. Deposits of £5,000
(approx. $6,570) are now being accepted for the 500 Launch Edition cars,
which TVR says will cost under £90,000 (approx. $118,244). (acquire)
