2017 Audi Aicon Concept

At the Frankfurt auto show, Audi unveiled its fully autonomous Aicon concept car. The vehicle showcases the automaker’s vision of a world without steering wheels, pedals or the stress of driving. Boasting an aggressive yet sleek and streamlined profile, the car’s build is aimed at luxury and comfort, with a four-door, 2 by 2 seating design sitting on 26-inch wheels. The purely electric Aicon also has an ambitious driving range from its big battery, covering nearly 500 miles on a single charge. To keep you informed, the Aicon uses Audi’s artificial-intelligence assistant PIA to offer up services before the passengers ask for them, based on situations and historical learnings, in addition to eye tracking, support for voice commands and gesture controls. For the interior, LED lighting sets the mood, and everything from the seats to the air conditioning changes automatically. The whole interior is controlled with haptic and touch-sensitive controls, although Audi suggests the PIA assistant could also handle most functions, as passengers are able to browse the internet, watch a movie to relax, or use the car as a mobile office. The company also envisions a world filled with sensor-heavy cars avoiding each other and possessing a high level of interaction intelligence so that seat belts will no longer be needed, however, that is still in further development. Montblanc And Marc Newson Update The M In A New Ultra Black Finish

Designed by Marc Newson, Montblanc M expresses today's modernity and timeless elegance of the future. The new model gets a matte black finish, which is created using the Montblanc's signature resin and is then sand-blasted to give it a stealthy appearance. They've also added a couple of new details such as a pop of color with orange ring that contrasts beautifully with the matte finish and a magnet on the "plateau" end of the pen to secure the cap during writing. The M Ultra Black will be available this month at Montblanc boutiques worldwide and comes in a fountain pen, rollerball, and ballpoint. $400-$565, montblanc.com.

Honda Urban EV Concept Unveiled At The Frankfurt Motor Show

Honda has revealed an all-new electric vehicle, the Urban EV Concept, at the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show. Inspired by the first generation Honda Civic that debuted in the 1970s, the vehicle reflects its heritage with a compact hatchback profile while inheriting modern appeal with its sleek construction and new tech. The car is part of a dedicated EV platform and a Power Manager Concept that not only keeps the car charged, but will also charge your home when needed. For the interior, an expansive touchscreen display which spans nearly the entire interior dashboard is one of the focal points, as it even extends into the doors, and those display feeds from the car’s two wing mirror cameras for checking space around the vehicle. Honda CEO Takahiro Hachigo announced that the Honda Urban EV Concept would hit the road in Europe in 2019.

Mercedes-AMG Project ONE Revealed

Ahead of the 2017 Frankfurt Motor Show slated to start this Thursday, Mercedes-Benz reveals the Mercedes-AMG Project ONE — a sleek new hypercar that the company has been teasing for quite some time. Inspired by Mercedes’ Formula One team, particularly built around a 1.6-liter V6 hybrid of its 2017 F1, the vehicle boasts 1,000 horsepower and a top speed of “beyond” 217 mph, according to Mercedes-Benz, and flaunts an aerodynamic “shark fin” across its spine, similar to the one seen on its current F1 car. With the interior also taking cues from the F1, such as racing-inspired wheel and seats, other enhancements include two big digital displays and a dock for your smartphone in the center console. Pricewise, the Project ONE will fetch around $2.72 million USD and will be extremely limited to 275 units only. (highsnobiety)

TVR Unveils New Griffith

The return of TVR has been promised for some time now, but it's looking like we finally have some traction as the newly relaunched brand debuts the Griffith. The company aims to stay true to TVR's DNA with a British supercar-slayer that boasts a 400-hp, Cosworth-designed 5.0L V8 with a custom clutch, flywheel, ECU, and most importantly, a six-speed manual gearbox from Tremec. The styling is very much in line with what we would imagine a TVR to look like and you can attribute that to the pen of car design legend, Gordon Murray, who not only created a design that looks good, but one that uses his iStream process to ensure optimal rigidity and a lightweight structure. Deposits of £5,000 (approx. $6,570) are now being accepted for the 500 Launch Edition cars, which TVR says will cost under £90,000 (approx. $118,244). (acquire)
