Maserati Alfieri Concept

Although it is revered for its rich history in racing, Maserati has shifted much of its focus in recent years to four-door luxury sedans with its GranTurismo the only remaining coupe offered to the public. As 2014 brings about its 100-year anniversary, the Italian carmaker premiered the Alfieri Concept at the Geneva Motor Show. With a name that pays homage to one of its founding members, this 2+2 sports coupe features a wheelbase that is 9.5 inches shorter than the GranTurismo, but delivers the same 4.7-liter V8 engine that drives 460 horsepower through a six-speed sequential gearbox. Designer Lorenzo Ramaciotti took inspiration from the classic 1954 Maserati A6 GCS-53, but added modern details like bi-xenon/LED headlamps, 21-inch wheels and a liquid-metal finish. Of course, because it is a concept vehicle, there is no word as to whether the Alfieri will ever see production. (hypebeast)
