Jaguar C-X75 Prototype

Jaguar has released a handful of pictures of their C-X75 prototype. Originally slated to go into limited production, the C-X75 reportedly features a plug-in hybrid powertrain that consists a 500 bhp (372 kW) twin-charged 1.6-liter four-cylinder engine and two electric that develop 390 bhp (290 kW). This setup enables the supercar to have a combined maximum output of roughly 850 bhp (633 kW). In terms of performance, the C-X75 prototype can accelerate from 0-60 mph in less than three seconds, 0-100 mph (160 km/h) in less than six seconds and onto a top speed of roughly 220 mph (354 km/h). The model also has an electric only range of approximately 40 miles (64 km). While the car was axed due to the global economic crisis, the company hinted it "leads the way for the next generation of our sporting bloodline." (worldcarfans)
