2017 Lexus SC

Australian media is reporting Lexus will bring back the "SC" moniker in 2017 with a production version of the LF-LC concept. The LF-LC concept was introduced by Lexus at 2011 NAIAS and once again a year later at AIMS with a different paint. Since then, many rumors emerged about a potential production model, with the most recent one indicating the vehicle could serve as a successor for the LFA. Now, CarsGuide is reporting a 1:1 scale clay model will be built this year. The production model will make use of carbon fiber and aluminum in its construction and is said to offer a performance level that "surpasses the RC-F coupe" and with "an unbelievably gorgeous fit-out." It will allegedly be offered with a V8 5.0-liter engine sourced from the RC F but with 482 PS (355 kW) and linked to a ten-speed automatic gearbox. Lexus is also planning a hybrid version which is said to offer a combined output of 506 PS (372 kW). An official reveal is expected to occur in January 2017 at NAIAS, with sales to kick off later that year.
