2017 Lexus SC
Australian media is reporting Lexus will bring back the "SC" moniker in 2017 with a production version of the LF-LC concept. The LF-LC concept was introduced by Lexus at 2011 NAIAS and once again a year later at AIMS with a different paint. Since then, many rumors emerged about a potential production model, with the most recent one indicating the vehicle could serve as a successor for the LFA. Now, CarsGuide is reporting a 1:1 scale clay model will be built this year. The production model will make use of carbon fiber and aluminum in
its construction and is said to offer a performance level that
"surpasses the RC-F coupe" and with "an unbelievably gorgeous fit-out."
It will allegedly be offered with a V8 5.0-liter engine sourced from the
RC F
but with 482 PS (355 kW) and linked to a ten-speed automatic gearbox.
Lexus is also planning a hybrid version which is said to offer a
combined output of 506 PS (372 kW). An official reveal is expected to occur in January 2017 at NAIAS,
with sales to kick off later that year. It will be the third SC after
the first generation (1991-2000) and the second version (2001-2010). (worldcarfans)
