Italdesign Giugiaro Parcour Promo Video Released

Italian design and engineering company Italdesign Giugiaro has released a video of its Lamborghini-based ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour all-terrain supercar. Powered by a 410kW/540Nm 5.2-litre mid-engined V10 borrowed from the Lamborghini Gallardo thanks to the company’s long relationship with the raging bull’s owner Volkswagen Group, the ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour is not only capable of accelerating from 0-100 km/h in 3.6 seconds, but also claims to be “suitable for any terrain”. Designed, engineered and produced in Moncalieri, Italy, the two-seat four-wheel-drive Parcour is fitted with a dashboard-mounted control device that allows drivers to alter the car to its surroundings through four different settings: Comfort, Off-road, Ice and Track. With each alternate setting, the electronic system modifies the car’s ride, engine set-up, and height – the latter varying from 210mm to 330mm. ItalDesign Giugiaro vice president, and son of co-founder Giorgetto Guigiaro, Fabrizio Giugiaro says the Parcour features the same characteristics as its namesake outdoor activity based around movement, parkour. “Parkour was devised as a new way of living and experiencing a metropolitan route creatively. “Parkour enthusiasts, who are referred to as traceurs or plotters, adapt their body to the surrounding environment pursuing, through their movements, not just spectacle but instead mainly maximum efficiency. The purpose of parkour is to move around as efficiently as possible. By efficiently I mean simply, quickly and safely, which are characteristic features of our car.” Presented in both coupe and roadster body styles, the ItalDesign Giugiaro Parcour concept was one of the big surprises of last month’s 2013 Geneva motor show.
