Ghostbusters 3 will reportedly begin production next year. The
third installment in the comedy franchise is to go in front of cameras
in summer 2013 with director Ivan Reitman back at the helm, says Deadline. As previously reported, Bill Murray is not expected to reprise his role as Peter Venkman. "No, I can tell you he won't be involved," Dan Aykroyd said in August. "It's sad but we're passing it on to a new generation. Ghostbusters 3 can be a successful movie without Bill." Etan Cohen (Tropic Thunder) is currently writing the script for Ghostbusters 3. If
the sequel goes into production in 2013 to make a 2014 release, its
cinema debut will coincide with the 30th anniversary of the original Ghostbusters from 1984.
