Austrian Felix Baumgartner Makes A Record-Breaking Leap From Edge Of Space

Austrian Felix Baumgartner has broken the record for the highest ever skydive by jumping from a capsule 128,000ft (39km) above New Mexico. The 43-year-old daredevil now holds the record for the highest ever manned balloon flight, and is waiting to discover whether or not he has broken the sound barrier. Opening his parachute after 4m15s, he missed out on the record for the longest freefall - 4m36s, set by Joe Kittinger in 1960. (bbc)
