According to their Nov. newsletter, Tool have apparently been hard at work in the studio during the Thanksgiving holiday. The band has been tracking songs onto tape using a Studer A827 analog tape recorder (there is one on Ebay right now for the cool price of $11,500) and it is being said that the album will be fully recorded onto tape rather than going the mainstream digital route. The album will be engineered and produced by Joe Barresi (Isis, Coheed & Cambria, Puscifer, Tomahawk), for what will be their first album since 2006′s 10,000 Days.
