The first trailer for Gangster Squad was
released May 9 starring Sean Penn as gangster Mickey Cohen, Josh Brolin
and Ryan Gosling as members of the Los Angeles police force assigned to
bring him down. Set in the 1940s and ‘50s, the true crime drama
tells the story of the infamous East Coast mobster taking control of the
drugs, gambling, guns and prostitute rings of California. Through
intimidation, Cohen has police and political protection, until a secret
group of cops wage a war without badges. The Gangster Squad is set for an October/November
release in the UK other European countries, but no specific date has
been set for the US. It’s looking likely to be sometime later this year
though.
