McLaren Special Operations, the skunkworks within McLaren Automotive,
has created a new version of the company's 675LT Spider model. Decked
out in exposed carbon fiber, the limited edition model is known as the
MSO Carbon Series LT. The MSO Carbon Series LT is essentially a 675LT
Spider finished in exposed carbon fiber. However, it took a lot more
than just stripping some paint to arrive at the MSO Carbon Series LT.
The MSO model actually features about 40 percent more carbon fiber parts
than the standard 675LT Spider, meaning that the new carbon fiber bits
can't be retro-fitted onto an existing LT model. In addition to
carbon fiber everywhere, the MSO Carbon Series LT also features
GT3-inspired louvers on its front fenders and McLaren's Track Telemetry
pack as standard. The MSO Carbon Series LT is powered by the same
666 horsepower 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 found in the regular LT model.
McLaren says the Spider call accelerate from 0-62 in just 2.9 seconds
with the blast to 124mph taking just 8.1 seconds. Top speed is pegged at
203mph. McLaren didn't announce pricing, but the company says it
has already sold out of the 25 MSO Carbon Series LTs it plans to
produce. (leftlanenews)
