Twenty-eight years after it debuted, A-ha's music video for Take on Me
still looks impressive. The clip, which used a rotoscoping method to
trace over individual frames, swept the 1986 MTV Music Awards and
immediately became of a fan favorite. Cut to 2013, when Volkswagen debuts an ad that uses the same rotoscoping technique, as well as A-ha's hit song. Directed by David Shane, the cute clip pays homage to the original: (usatoday)
