Alfa Romeo has decided to launch a road bike, the ‘Alfa Romeo 4C IFD’, inspired by its lauded 4C sports car. Handmade in Italy by Compagnia Ducale, the 4C ‘Innovative Frame Design’ references Alfa’s efforts
to create a frame as light as possible, which in turn is the same
engineering principle behind the 4C. The end result is a bike with a dry
weight of 6.9kg. The carbonfibre half-tube structure of the 4C IFD means this road
bike uses the same material as the 4C sportscar’s chassis, and it, too,
comes in classic Alfa Romeo red. According to Alfa, the “sporty, light and innovative” 4C IFD is the “ideal companion of the amazing Alfa Romeo 4C” and is a “perfect combination of passion and future”. It will, go on sale in America, Asia and Europe in December,
priced from 3500 euros ($5000) to 9000 euros ($12,200), depending on
the ‘equipment’ level.

Volvo P1800 ZES Concept
Volvo's well-received attempt to sprinkle some P1800 magic on the new Coupe Concept that's on display at the ongoing 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show, seems to have rubbed off on Swedish-born designer Bo Zolland who decided to bring back to life the original version of the car with a new coachbuilt-like study. The Volvo P1800 ZES is the Swedish designer’s shot at a new age version
of the iconic 1960/70s era model. Keeping many of the aesthetic elements
intact, the vintage inspired model seemingly takes design cues from the
Aston Martin DB5, but with a more wagon inspired rear. Modeled specifically after the sports estate
version of the P1800, Zolland has outfitted his concept with modern
headlights, new taillights, and a whole lot more. The retro inspired
spoke wheels are the perfect finishing touch to this beauty. (carscoops)

First Trailer For "Grudge Match" Starring Sylvester Stallone And Robert De Niro
Warner Bros. Pictures has released the trailer for the upcoming
comedy “Grudge Match” starring Robert De
Niro and Sylvester Stallone as old boxing rivals who come
out of retirement for one final match. The film is directed by Peter Segal (“Get Smart”) from a screenplay by Tim Kelleher and Rodney Rothman, story by Tim Kelleher. In “Grudge Match,” De Niro and Stallone play Billy “The Kid” McDonnen
and Henry “Razor” Sharp, two local Pittsburgh fighters whose fierce
rivalry put them in the national spotlight. Each had scored a victory
against the other during their heyday, but in 1983, on the eve of their
decisive third match, Razor suddenly announced his retirement, refusing
to explain why but effectively delivering a knock-out punch to both
their careers. Thirty years later, boxing promoter Dante Slate Jr.,
seeing big dollar signs, makes them an offer they can’t refuse: to
re-enter the ring and settle the score once and for all. But they may not have to wait that long: on their first encounter in
decades, their long-festering feud erupts into an unintentionally
hilarious melee that instantly goes viral. The sudden social media
frenzy transforms their local grudge match into a must-see HBO event.
Now, if they can just survive the training, they may actually live to
fight again. The film also stars Kevin Hart, Alan Arkin, Kim Basinger, Jon Bernthal and Camden Gray. Film hits theaters on December 25, 2013.
Check out the trailer below.

Opel Monza Concept
Following last month's online reveal, Opel has publicly unveiled the Monza concept this evening at the 2013 Frankfurt Motor Show. Bringing back an important nameplate in Opel's history, the Monza
concept serves as a preview for a new styling direction and has been
designed with the main idea of "ocean waves lapping on the shore". It’s a
sleek and attractive four-seater measuring 4.69 meters in length and
1.31 meters in height, with a 15cm lower cabin compared to conventional
production models and a generous 500-liter trunk. Open the gullwing doors and the interior cabin reveals an interesting
sculpted dashboard which is being used as a single projection surface
replacing the traditional screens. This is done by 18 LEDs which form a
multi-function screen providing all relevant details, with support for
voice control and configurability thanks to the steering
wheel-positioned buttons. It's not the typical hybrid as the Monza concept combines an electric
motor with a compressed natural (CNG) range extender derived from the
1.0-liter, three-cylinder SIDI Turbo engine. (worldcarfans)

Virgin Galactic's Spaceship Completes Second Flight Test
Virgin Galactic’s commercial spacecraft has taken another huge step
toward space tourism. The SpaceShipTwo, or SS2, successfully completed
its second supersonic test flight above the Mojave Desert Thursday, Discovery News reported. The SS2 reached a maximum speed of Mach 1.43,
or about 1,088.52 mph, and a maximum altitude of 69,000 feet, which is
the highest the spacecraft has ever traveled. “We couldn’t be more
delighted to have another major supersonic milestone under our belts as
we move toward a 2014 start of commercial service,” Virgin Galactic
founder Richard Branson said in a blog post. The suborbital spacecraft was carried to an
altitude of 46,000 feet by the WhiteKnightTwo, or WK2, aircraft. At that
point, the SS2’s hybrid rocket engine kicked in and the craft began
flying on its own. The engine stayed on for 20 seconds, pushing the
vehicle to 69,000 feet. The spacecraft’s two pilots were the only
people aboard to enjoy the ride. But the SS2 is designed to eventually
carry six passengers along with the two pilots. The spacecraft’s pilots -- Mark Stucky and
Clint Nichols -- were also able to test the vehicle’s “feathering
re-entry system” for the first time Thursday. Stucky and Nichols are
both affiliated with Scaled Composites,
the aerospace manufacturer founded by the legendary Burt Rutan and now
owned by the Northrop Grumman Corp. (NYSE:NOC) that designed the SS2. The goal of the designers is to eventually
leave the SS2’s rocket engine burning for 70 seconds until it hits 2,500
mph and a maximum altitude of 364,000 feet, according to CNet. The privately held Virgin Galactic LLC has
reported that 625 tickets -- at $250,000 a pop -- have already been sold
for the spacecraft’s first series of space flights. You can watch Branson’s commentary on the test flight below: (ibtimes)
