Mc5 bassist Michael Davis has died at the age of 68 after a battle with liver disease. The veteran rocker passed away on Friday (17Feb12) at the Enloe Medical Center in Chico, California after suffering liver failure. His death comes after a month spent in hospital battling liver disease. Davis shot to fame in 1964 when he joined Mc5 as the replacement for original bass player Pat Burrows. He played with the group up until 1972 and took part in brief reunions in 2003 and 2005. The musician also worked as a producer and founded the Music Is Revolution Foundation, a charity dedicated to supporting music education in schools.
