2020 McLaren Elva
Joining the P1, Senna, and Speedtail is the latest addition to
McLaren's Ultimate Series line, the Elva. Inspired by the McLaren-Elva
race cars of the 1960s, the new model is the brand's first open-cockpit
two-seater, a true roadster that has no roof, windscreen, or side
windows. The Elva will be the company's lightest road car with a custom
carbon fiber chassis and body, carbon fiber seats, and sintered carbon
fiber brakes. Power will come from a twin-turbo 4.0L McLaren V8
that produces 804 hp and 590 lb-ft of torque. This will launch the
hypercar from 0-60 in less than three seconds and an official top speed
has yet to be revealed. One of the most groundbreaking features of the
new Elva is an Active Air Management System, which redirects airflow
over the cockpit to keep things comfortable. It can also be fitted with
an optional fixed windscreen if necessary. The McLaren Elva is limited to 399 examples and customer deliveries are set for later next year. From $1,690,000. (acquire)
