Giorgetto Giugiaro x Seiko 30th Anniversary Speedmaster Chronograph
Recognized as a “Car Designer of the Century” in 1999 and inducted into
the Automotive Hall of Fame in 2002, Italian automobile designer
Giorgetto Giugiaro – responsible for some of the most iconic offerings
from BMW, Alfa Romeo, Maserati, Ferrari, and Lamborghini has been
tapped by Seiko to craft
a 30th anniversary collection of timepieces in honor of the Japanese
watch company. Undoubtedly, the highlight of the collection is
Giugiaro’s take on the Speedmaster Chronograph. Updated with a unique
asymmetric design and an off-center placement for the case in regard to
the strap, the piece sees the inclusion of oversized buttons – meant to
aid in operation while wearing gloves in the cockpit of a supercar.
Appearing in a total of six different color combinations, the Giorgetto
Giugiaro x Seiko 30th Anniversary Speedmaster Chronograph will soon be
available at select Seiko stockists for ¥33,600 JPY (approximately $336
USD). (hypebeast)
