Busan Trick Art Museum

Propping up the Leaning Tower of Pisa or hanging from a cliff face are not what most would expect when visiting the average art gallery or museum. But not content with simply looking at works of art, visitors to this bizarre museum in Busan, South Korea are able to 'interact' with the pieces thanks to mind-bending optical illusions. Anyone wondering what they would look like walking on a tightrope or held in the grip of a giant snake can find out in the 'Trick Eye' Museum, which uses cleverly manipulated paintings to really put visitors in the picture.

The Shelby Cobra-Inspired Puritalia 427 Has Officially Arrived

Puritalia, a new Italian car maker, has unveiled its first car and named it the 427. The car incorporates Italian design with American muscle philosophy, says the company. The car is expected to be launched in 2013. "We decided to design and engineer the 427 simply because a similar car doesn't exist. It is unique in design, in style, and most importantly in the way we build it. As in the past, simplicity was the idea behind the development of the true 2-seat sports car leaving exotic and extreme solutions out of the equation,” said Paolo Parente, Founder, Puritalia. The 427 pays homage to the legendary Shelby Cobra 427. It is a two-seater, open top, light weight car which has a 5-litre V8 engine bolted on. The 427 features an aluminum chassis for high torsional rigidity, composite and carbon fiber body panels, independents double wishbone suspension, adjustable shock absorbers, a 6-speed manual gearbox and a limited slip differential.

Even in the tiniest car, the wheels remain fully functional and there is no deformation of walls or loss of fine details – highlighting the enormous power of Objet’s 3D printers to turn CAD designs into visually and functionally accurate prototypes.

Team Hot Wheels Sets World Record

Hot Wheels stunt drivers have set a new world record after completing a 360-degree huge double-loop. The stunt track was modelled as a giant version of the toy Hot Wheels Double Dare Snare track, and mounted as part of the X Games in Los Angeles on the weekend. The drivers of each car, rally racer Tanner Foust and Hollywood stuntman Greg Tracy completed the double-loop in tandem, reaching 85km/h and 7Gs: seven times the force of gravity, and around the same that jet fighter pilots experience. The pair -- racing as Team Green and Team Yellow -- trained for a year to complete the loop, which always held the risk of the drivers passing out from the gravity forces. The massive 18.2-metre high spiral track broke the previous record set last year by Chinese racer Li Yatao, who circled a Youngman Lotus L5 Sportback around a 12.8m loop in Shanghai, which was performed partly as a promo for for the Chinese-owned Zhejiang Youngman Lotus.

Charlie Watts' The A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie Jazz Band Makes U.S. Debut

Rolling Stones drummer Charlie Watts has debuted his other band the A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie in New York City at the Iridium Jazz Club. Watts formed the band in 2009. It is named A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie because of the first names of the members Axel Zwingenberger, Ben Waters, Charlie Watts and Dave Green. The Watts jazz band played two 75-minute sets at the club and will do two shows a night at 8pm and 10pm until July 2. The Iridium is at 1650 Broadway, near 51st. It was the home of Les Paul who had a residency there every Monday night from 1996 until his death in 2009. The Les Paul Trio still plays at the club every week with special guests. Steve Miller, Ted Nugent and Jeff Beck have at times joined the band on stage. The A, B, C & D of Boogie Woogie released their album 'Live In Paris' last week.
