Triumph Project TE-1 Motorcycle
Triumph's first effort to enter the electric motorcycle market is
getting very close to seeing the road, thanks to the help of Williams
Advanced Engineering. The branch of the Williams F1 team is lending its
expertise to Project TE-1 in the form of battery, motor, and software
controls with the aim of eliminating compromised performance at low
battery power levels. This is helped by an extremely lightweight package
making use of cutting-edge materials. Power consistency and fast charge
times are critical, and the TE-1 makes use of a 360-volt system that
can charge to 80% in under 20 minutes. The bike has entered the second
phase of its four-year cycle, with Triumph not announcing any production dates yet. (uncrate)
