Renault has officially debuted its brand new R.S. 01 race car, which the company will be using in its Renaultsport Trophy racing series. Developed in collaboration with Italian chassis manufacturer Dalara,
the racer’s body is made from composite materials and boasts a curb
weight of less than 2,500 pounds. Powering the car is the twin-turbo V6
engine from the Nissan GT-R, which has been tweaked by Nismo
to produce more than 500 horsepower and 442 lb-ft of torque. No word on
0-60 mph times but the car’s top speed will be in excess of 185 mph.
