Paris public transport authority RATP has come up with an etiquette guide for tourists on how to navigate the city’s subway system. The Manuel de Savoir-Vivre
is an e-book containing 12 humorous rules for tourists to follow to
ensure a pleasant ride on the metro. It was the result of collecting
thousands of suggestions from commuters over several months. The
guidelines are accompanied by helpful illustrations and are aimed at
improving tourists' manners, and educating them on the dos and don’ts of
riding the subway. Some of the rules are tongue-in-cheek, such as “Have manners:
Share your new musical tastes on your social networks. Today, you can
express yourself in silence” and “Be helpful: Hold the exit door for the
person behind you. In life, never pass on the chance to come across a
pretty glance”, while others are common sense. The guide is currently only available in French and you can check it out here. (designtaxi)
