The last front-engine, V12 Ferrari convertible to leave Maranello was
the 365 GTS/4 more commonly known as the Daytona. 50 years later, the
365 GTS/4's successor has finally arrived in the 812 GTS. Based on the
812 Superfast, Ferrari bills the 812 GTS as the most powerful
convertible available, and with a 789 horsepower V12, they're probably
right. In order to maintain the speed, handling, and aerodynamics of the
Superfast, Ferrari designed a top that retracts in 14 seconds while
keeping added weight low enough to equal the hardtop's specs. That means
0-62 in three seconds and a top speed of 211 MPH. The redesigned rear
and pillars are shaped to reduce wind noise and keep the cabin as calm
as possible. (uncrate)
