Mi MIX Alpha Surround Display 5G Concept Smartphone

Xiaomi’s latest installment in the Mi Mix series sees another impressive innovation that adapts a “surround screen” effect that showcases a display wrapped around the entire smartphone called the Mi Mix Alpha. The entire device is made of screen; even the sides are digital, which display network signal, battery levels, and more. Volume control utilizes pressure-sensitive buttons on the side as well as a 108-megapixel camera sensor co-developed alongside Samsung able to produce 27-megapixel images in low light. The rear of the device doubles as a viewfinder when using the camera for a selfie, meaning the rear camera will be able to produce selfies of the same resolution. Inside is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor, 5G connectivity, 12GB of RAM, 512GB of storage, 40W wired fast-charging, and a 4,050mAh battery. Xiaomi’s concept smartphone will be produced on a small-scale and is expected to go on sale in December for 19,999 CNY (approximately $2,800 USD). (hypebeast)

Ferrari 812 GTS Convertible

The last front-engine, V12 Ferrari convertible to leave Maranello was the 365 GTS/4 more commonly known as the Daytona. 50 years later, the 365 GTS/4's successor has finally arrived in the 812 GTS. Based on the 812 Superfast, Ferrari bills the 812 GTS as the most powerful convertible available, and with a 789 horsepower V12, they're probably right. In order to maintain the speed, handling, and aerodynamics of the Superfast, Ferrari designed a top that retracts in 14 seconds while keeping added weight low enough to equal the hardtop's specs. That means 0-62 in three seconds and a top speed of 211 MPH. The redesigned rear and pillars are shaped to reduce wind noise and keep the cabin as calm as possible. (uncrate)

Lamborghini Reveals Its Hybrid Hypercar, The Sián

Lamborghini has just debuted its most powerful model ever, the already sold-out Sián. The Sián will be the first electrified Lamborghini with a unique hybrid system that uses a 48V e-motor that produces 34 hp that helps enhance responsiveness and performance while also enhancing the car's practicality by supporting slower maneuvers such as reversing and parking with electric power alone. At the heart of the hybrid system is a powerful supercapacitor that joins the V12 to deliver a total of 819 hp. This allows for a 0-62 time of under 2.8 seconds and a top speed in excess of 217 mph. Its unique regenerative braking system was developed from the ground up by Lamborghini to ensure the batteries are always fully charged when braking giving drivers an instant boost of power. The design of the Sián is inspired by what is arguably the most iconic Lamborghini of all time, the Countach. From the signature Gandini line to the hexagonal design elements, there is no denying the hypercar's heritage, which is undeniably Lamborghini but is also very much a Lamborghini of the future. A limited run of 63 Siáns will be produced, a number that celebrations the birth year of Automobili Lamborghini. (acquire)
