Ferrari Reveals Their Fastest Road Car Ever, The SF90 Stradale
Ferrari is revealing their latest developments in electrification
with the debut of their most powerful road car to date, the SF90
Stradale. The supercar will be their first series production plug-in
hybrid with an electrified V8 that produces 986 hp, allowing for a 0-60
time of 2.5 seconds and a top speed of 211 mph. The engine is
accompanied by an all-new 8-speed dual-clutch transmission and it's the
first Ferrari to come with all-wheel-drive. It can also travel up to 16
miles on electric power alone. Another first is what they're
calling RAC-e, which is the first fully electric front axle, which helps
control torque distribution. Additional performance innovations include
a shut-off Gurney that regulates air flow and helps reduce drag at high
speeds and a chassis and bodyshell construction that utilizes
multi-material technology to manage the added weight of the car's new
hybrid architecture. Customers will be able to choose from a
standard model and a Assetto Fiorano spec that features Multimatic shock
absorbers, carbon fiber and titanium upgrades that deliver a weight
savings of up to 66 lbs, a carbon fiber rear spoiler, and Michelin Pilot
Sport Cup2 tires. (acquire)
