Back in March, Aston Martin and Red Bull confirmed that they were hard at work on creating the world’s fastest hypercar: Project Nebula, a successor of sorts to Aston’s own Vulcan.
Now, just a few short months later, the wraps have been taken off the
fruits of the collaboration. Aptly dubbed the AM-RB 001, the vehicle
comes in the form of a V12 mid-engine two-seater — one helmed by
renowned F1 engineer and longtime McLaren man Adrian Newey, as well as
Aston’s Marek Reichman and David King. Though tech specs have yet to be
revealed, Aston Martin says the lightweight carbon fiber hypercar will
be assembled at its Gaydon facility in the United Kingdom and feature 25
track-specific models along with between 99 and 150 street-legal units.
According to Red Bull, the customer list for those production units
“reads like a who’s who of F1 legends, moguls, and megastars.” Said
Newey of the project: The synergy between Red Bull Racing and Aston Martin is
clear. I knew Red Bull Racing had the ability to handle the pure
performance aspects, but Aston Martin’s experience of making beautiful,
fast, and comfortable GT cars is of great benefit to the project.
The AM-RB 001 is currently on track to arrive in 2018. (hypebeast)
