SCG003S American Supercar

The Glickenhaus SCG003 supercar will make its debut at the 2015 Geneva motor show, which begins in a few days time. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus, founded by avid Ferrari collector, American James Glickenhaus, will unveil its first supercar at the upcoming Geneva show. Dubbed SCG003, the car will be shown off in both racing and road-going forms at the motor show. The SCG003’s styling is said to be heavily influenced by aerodynamic needs of race cars. Out of weight and rigidity concerns, much of the car is constructed out of carbonfibre. According to the company, the car’s rear carbonfibre subframe can be easily swapped out and changed, allowing different engines to be used as needs dictate. The SCG003 will ride on pushrod suspension at each corner, with traction provided by a set of Dunlop tyres. Track-bound version of the SCG003 will be powered by twin-turbo 3.5-litre V6 derived from Honda’s line of racing engines. Road-legal variants will use a different twin-turbo V6 that’s currently under development. The company claims that the car will offer “downforce and engine torque that are unknown in the supercar world”. The race version is set to participate in the 24 Hours of Nurburgring endurance event in May. Scuderia Cameron Glickenhaus will begin taking orders for the track-only version of the SCG003 at the Geneva show, with the road car scheduled to go on sale later this year. (caradvice)
