Ferrari has unveiled a new limited edition model commemorating its 60th anniversary in North America. The Ferrari F60 America is based on the supercar maker's F12 Berlinetta. Priced at around $3.6 million, it will be limited to just 10 production examples. The F60 America is powered by a 6.3-litre V12 engine
producing 545kW and 690Nm, bringing a 0-100km/h time of 3.1 seconds.
Drive is channelled to the rear wheels via a seven-speed dual-clutch
automatic gearbox. While it is based on the F12 Berlinetta,
the F60 America doesn't share a single panel – the most obvious
differentiations being its "light fabric top" that can be used at speeds
of up to 120km/h. Other cosmetic differences include a newly-sculpted front
end, re-profiled bonnet, and new doors and front guards with air vents. Instead of traditional red the F60 America is finished
exclusively in a blue and white stripe colour scheme, a reference to the
famous North American Racing Team cars of the '60s. Ferrari has also used its racing history as inspiration for the fitout of the F60's interior. (drive)
