A new report indicates Pininfarina will build six units of the Sergio concept based on the Ferrari 458 Spider. At last year's Geneva Motor Show Pininfarina unveiled the Sergio
concept, a two-seater brachetta designed as a tribute to Sergio
Pininfarina who passed away on July 3, 2012 at the age of 85. Shortly
after its reveal, rumors
emerged about the possibility of a limited production series but
nothing materialized. Now, a new report indicates Pininfarina will
create six units of the Ferrari 458 Spider-based specialty model and
most likely all of them have already been sold. Pricing hasn't been disclosed yet but previous estimations referred
to a price tag situated between 650,000 GBP and 1.3M GBP. While
initially it was believed drivers would have to wear a helmet to meet
European road homologations, it appears this won't be the case as the
Sergio will be fitted with a windscreen as well as side windows. In
addition, it will also probably receive a 12mm taller nose to pass
pedestrian protection rules. (worldcarfans)
