VŪHL
(which is an acronym for “Vehicles of Ultra-lightweight and
High-performance) is an up-and-coming small performance car company
hailing from Mexico, which has just announced their very first product. The VŪHL 05 is designed in the mold of super-lightweight cars such as
the Ariel Atom and KTM X-Bow. The open-top car is built on a monocoque
chassis, which tips the scales at just 172 pounds, and a dry weight of a
whopping 1,532 pounds. It is powered by 2.0-liter Ford EcoBoost
four-cylinder engine, which has been tuned to produce 285 horsepower and
nearly 310 pound-feet of torque, providing a 0-62 time of just 3.7
seconds, and a top speed in excess of 150 miles per hour. According to VŪHL’s press release sales will be limited to to the UK
and North America. The price is listed at £55,000 (approx. $84,000). The
VŪHL 05′s official release is slated for spring 2014.
