Neil Young And Crazy Horse's 'Americana' Coming In June

Neil Young and Crazy Horse have two new albums on the way. The first, Americana, will arrive on June 5th, according to RollingStone.com. It’ll mark the band’s first album since 2003, and their first album with the full Crazy Horse lineup of Billy Talbot, Ralph Molina and Frank “Poncho” Sampedro since 1996. According to RollingStone.com, Americana was recorded at Audio Casa Blanca and was produced by Young and John Hanlon with Mark Humphreys. Young previously said the album comprises rearrangements of “songs we all know from kindergarten” with help from a children’s choir. He wasn’t kidding. “Oh Susannah”, “This Land Is Your Land”, and “She’ll Be Comin’ Round The Mountain” are among the 11 tracks included. There are also reworkings of a few songs you probably didn’t listen to in kindergarden, like Jefferson Airplane’s “High Flyin’ Bird”, “Gallows Pole”, a song made famous by Led Zeppelin”, and Sex Pistols’ “God Save The Queen”. An issued press release offers the following:
“What ties these songs together is the fact that while they may represent an America that may no longer exist. The emotions and scenarios behind these songs still resonate with what’s going on in the country today with equal, if not greater impact nearly 200 years later. The lyrics reflect the same concerns and are still remarkably meaningful to a society going through economic and cultural upheaval, especially during an election year. They are just as poignant and powerful today as the day they were written.”
The band’s as-yet-untitled second album is “still in the works” as of last February.

Every song and album includes a link to buy the tunes on Itunes, Amazon, or on CD. Rancid are currently recording their eight studio album, which will be the follow up to “Let The Dominoes Fall”.  That album was released June 2nd, 2009 via Hellcat Records.

"Volkswagen XL1" Prototype Caught Completely Undisguised

Back in 2009, Volkswagen promised the world that it would produce a car that would only need one liter per 100 km, with the carmaker presenting the L1 concept. Since then, the German company has been working full throttle to bring the car close to production. Last year, VW presented the Formula XL1 concept and in February this year the company confirmed that the 1-liter car would enter limited production. Now, spy photographers have caught the vehicle with absolutely no camouflage, proving that the company is determined to bring it to the road in 2013, as it was previously intended. We are talking about a car the size of a VW Polo, but which is seriously lower, uses a coupe layout and gullwing doors. Inside, we have a more conventional cabin layout - the previous projects showed a tandem seating layout. As for the tech side, only 23 percent of the car is made out of steel or iron, with the rest using special materials to keep the weight low. To be more precise, the vehicle tips the scales at 795 kg (1,750 lbs). Power comes from a hybrid powertrain, which mixes a two-cylinder, turbocharged diesel unit with a displacement of 800 cc, which produces 47 hp and is mated to a DSG double clutch gearbox, to an electric unit. The latter delivers 27 hp and can offer an all-electric mode or work together with the petrol unit. VW promises a fuel efficiency of 0.9 liters per 100 km (261 mpg) and CO2 emissions of 24 grams per km. As for the performance, the top speed sits 100 mph (160 km/h) and the 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) sprint is covered in 11.9 seconds.

Deadmau5 "Failbait" (Ft. Cypress Hill)

House music king Deadmau5 has teamed up with legendary rap crew Cypress Hill for a new track entitled "Failbait". Cypress Hill’s contribution is pretty slick, although it certainly doesn’t try too hard to deviate from their usual territory, with lyrics revolving mostly around the greatness of weed. Deadmau5 really shines, though, as the generally ambient Toronto DJ pulls out an exceptionally funky beat. Deadmau5 apparently put the thing together some time ago, but never did anything with it until now. Along with his post of the track, Deadmau5 writes:
"Did you guys know i produced and recorded a track with Cypress Hill last year? Probably not. I have the master sittin right here, I’ll be damned if I can figure out how to release this one… it ain’t house. Just some gnarly bassy oldschool hip-hop with a somewhat new production twist… ah screw it, I’ll upload it to Soundcloud sec!”

Jenson Button Wins Australian Grand Prix

MCLAREN driver Jenson Button has won his third Australian Formula One Grand Prix title.
Button, winner in 2009-10, won from reigning world champion Sebastian Vettel in a Red Bull with the second McLaren of Lewis Hamilton in third place.
Australian Mark Webber was fourth - his best finish in his home race - while compatriot Daniel Ricciardo produced a stunning move on the final lap to secure ninth and grab his first championship points. Ricciardo was closing on Toro Rosso teammate Jean-Eric Vergne when he managed to take both Vergne and Paul di Resta in quick succession with a brilliant double overtake. Button stunned Hamilton by grabbing the lead at the start and broke out to a comfortable lead. French Lotus driver Romain Grosjean started from third but lost three spots at the start and, by lap three, his race was over with broken front suspension after a collision.  Home-town hopes Webber and Ricciardo both suffered at the start. Webber made his characteristic slow getaway and dropped from fifth on the grid to ninth rapidly but, by quarter distance, had battled his way back to fifth. Ricciardo was squeezed heading into turn one and bumped out of position and had to return to the pits to check for damage, returning in last place. With the race just 11 laps old, seven-times world champion Michael Schumacher's bid for a fifth Australian crown ended when his Mercedes expired and he was forced to retire. The second Lotus of returning world champion Kimi Raikkonen began a steady climb from 17th on the grid to move as high as third by the 18th lap, eventually finishing seventh. Ferrari's Fernando Alonso started from 12th but, with the help of a trademark speedy leap from the lights, moved quickly up the grid and into the top eight. He came home fifth. Lap 37 brought out the safety car when Russian Vitaly Petrov's Caterham limped to a stop beside a safety wall with crippled steering. When racing resumed, Button again put space between himself and the field, jumping to a three-second break over Vettel, followed by Hamilton, Webber and Alonso. Alonso's teammate Felipe Massa was forced to retire on lap 48 after a collision with the Williams of Bruno Senna.
