Auto Fabrica Type 18 BMW R nineT Scrambler Motorcycle

The cafe racer style may very well have had its day with the current push towards futurism in the custom bike scene. Auto Fabrica embodies that trend with its BMW R nineT-based Type 18, that takes a large step towards the future of motorcycle design rather looking strictly towards the past for its design influences. Commissioned by BMW Motorrad for the Wheels and Waves festive in the south of France, Auto Fabrica decided to take BMW's infinitely customizable platform in a future-looking direction. Stripping the R nineT down to its bare essentials, Auto Fabrica used a minimalist philosophy when building it back, crafting flying wings that reference BMW's roots as an aircraft engine manufacturer. Aiming for a modular design, the project has interchangeable panels with a look towards volume production. Orders are strictly limited, although the design should see several evolutions going forward. (uncrate)
