Rolls-Royce 103EX Concept

Rolls-Royce has unveiled their vision for what autonomous automotive luxury could look like a century from the present day in the form of the 103EX concept. The 2100 A.D. vehicle features is a Phantom Extended Wheelbase that brings the super-streamlined car to 19 feet in length. Retro touches in the grill are contrasted by a massive darkened glass canopy, laser head and tail lights, automatic suicide doors and 28-inch wheels. The canopy is designed to open in such a way that its future occupants are able to fully stand when entering the vehicle via a retractable red carpet covered step. Another past vs. future touch is seen on the inside in the form of large woodgrain panels and an OLED display. From a practical standpoint the vehicle would be emissions-free, completely silent and entirely autonomous. “With the Rolls-Royce VISION NEXT 100 we were mindful not to dwell on the past. We wanted to be as innovative as possible and at the same time transcend the design history of the marque,” said design director Giles Taylor.

McLaren Reveals MSO Carbon Series 675LT Spider

McLaren Special Operations, the skunkworks within McLaren Automotive, has created a new version of the company's 675LT Spider model. Decked out in exposed carbon fiber, the limited edition model is known as the MSO Carbon Series LT. The MSO Carbon Series LT is essentially a 675LT Spider finished in exposed carbon fiber. However, it took a lot more than just stripping some paint to arrive at the MSO Carbon Series LT. The MSO model actually features about 40 percent more carbon fiber parts than the standard 675LT Spider, meaning that the new carbon fiber bits can't be retro-fitted onto an existing LT model. In addition to carbon fiber everywhere, the MSO Carbon Series LT also features GT3-inspired louvers on its front fenders and McLaren's Track Telemetry pack as standard. The MSO Carbon Series LT is powered by the same 666 horsepower 3.8L twin-turbocharged V8 found in the regular LT model. McLaren says the Spider call accelerate from 0-62 in just 2.9 seconds with the blast to 124mph taking just 8.1 seconds. Top speed is pegged at 203mph. McLaren didn't announce pricing, but the company says it has already sold out of the 25 MSO Carbon Series LTs it plans to produce. (leftlanenews)

Analog Atari Pong Table

Pong, the first sports arcade game, has been given an analog, yet modern, makeover. Gamer Daniel Perdomo and friends spent 2-years creating the Pong Table, which boasts functional rectangular paddles and a square ball to maintain authenticity. Players move the paddles mechanically, while magnets underneath guide the ball glides across the playing surface. Perdomo added LED scoring lights and retro decals to give it the in-game look. Both the paddles and cubed ball move as if not attached to anything, while the surface of the table features the same minimalist black and white design the original did.
