Wire Coat Hanger Sculptures By David Mach

World renown artist David Mach has recently created stunning works of art by incorporating wire coat-hangers. Born in Scotland and now living in London, Mach is known for his use of everyday materials in his work. The Coathanger sculptures are huge forms covered in metal coat-hangers, both building up the volume of the figures and poking out of the forms as well. He is best known for his ‘heads’ created from matches and is interested in making something striking out of the mundane materials found in the everyday experience.

                      

Metallica Cover Deep Purple's "When A Blind Man Cries"

Metallica have unveiled their cover of Deep Purple’s ‘When A Blind Man Cries’. The song is taken from the new Deep Purple tribute album, ‘Re-Machined: A Tribute to Machine Head’, and also includes bands like Iron Maiden, Black Label Society and Chickenfoot covering songs from Deep Purple’s classic 1972 album ‘Machine Head’. As well as this, a series of one-off collaborators will join forces to record some of the tracks. Among the musicians set to take part are Red Hot Chili Peppers’ Chad Smith, ex-Guns N’ Roses men Matt Sorum and Duff MacKagan, Def Leppard’s Joe Elliott and Steve Vai. Metallica are currently in the studio recording the follow-up to 2008′s ‘Death Magnetic’ in San Franscisco. The tracklisting for ‘Re-Machined: A Tribute To Machine Head’ is as follows:

First Poster for "Texas Chainsaw 3D" Unveiled

Lionsgate has revealed the teaser poster, via Fangoria, for Texas Chainsaw 3D (looks like the "the" and "massacre" were chopped from the title). The film is still on track for a January 4th release and we're told a trailer is not too far off from being released either. “‘Texas Chainsaw 3D’continues the legendary story of the homicidal Sawyer family, picking up where Tobe Hooper’s 1974 horror classic left off in Newt, Texas, where for decades people went missing without a trace. The townspeople long suspected the Sawyer family, owners of a local barbeque pit, were somehow responsible. Their suspicions were finally confirmed one hot summer day when a young woman escaped the Sawyer house following the brutal murders of her four friends. Word around the small town quickly spread, and a vigilante mob of enraged locals surrounded the Sawyer stronghold, burning it to the ground and killing every last member of the family – or so they thought. Happy 69th Birthday, Robert Crumb!

R. Crumb, who took cartoons underground and then nudged underground closer to the surface, turns 69 years old today. While he has worked entirely outside of the mainstream of the comic book industry, his best known works - such as the hedonistic "Fritz the Cat" and the "Keep on Truckin'" images that became hippie icons - have certainly entered the pop culture. His "Mr. Natural" character became a familiar figure, spouting philosophical aphorisms while almost tripping over his beard. Crumb drew many album covers, including a famous one for Big Brother & the Holding Company's "Cheap Thrills." Fittingly, he was the subject of an underground 1994 documentary that went mainstream.

First Trailer For "The Iceman" Starring Michael Shannon

The trailer for Millennium Films' crime-thriller The Iceman has been unveiled and can be watched below. Directed by Ariel Vromen, the film stars Michael Shannon, Winona Ryder, James Franco, Ray Liotta and Chris Evans. The Iceman is the true story of Richard Kuklinski, loving husband, devoted father, ruthless killer. He is believed to have killed 100 people between 1964 and 1986. A release date has not yet been set for the film.

Sky Garage Apartments In Singapore

A newly built luxury high rise development in Singapore now offers ensuite sky garages for those who can afford to park their cars right next to their living rooms. Residents park their cars in designated lifts that take their vehicles up to their apartments, while they take another elevator up. The lifts have been made by German technology, which makes the cars a centerpiece of these homes. The apartments start at $7.5 million (US) for a basic floor plan, which includes two parking spaces. Each penthouse costs over $24 million (US) and has a double garage space. The high rise building is a first of its kind in Singapore and the world's tallest residence with ensuite sky garages.

R36 Nissan GT-R Approved For 2018 Launch

Recently it was reported the future of the next-generation Nissan GT-R was in doubt. But the latest news point suggests a successor to the current model is still planned for production and might be launched in 2018. Only two months ago it was suggested Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has not given his support to design and engineer a new GT-R due to a lack of profitability. Combined with the retirement of Kazutoshi Mizuno ‒ the genius behind the GT-R ‒ there wasn’t cause for optimism. But Inside Line recently visited Nissan’s R&D center in Atsugi, Japan, and was told development is well underway. Initially it was planned that the second generation GT-R would arrive in 2015, but was delayed due to Kazutoshi Mizuno’s absence. The chief engineer for the Nissan GT-R suffered from health issues, but has recently returned to head up the development team. He was also involved in Nissan’s recent class victory at the 24 Hours of Nürburgring, which served as proving ground for future GT-R’s. The development of the upcoming Honda or Acura NSX is followed with great interest by Nissan’s GT-R team. It is rumored Honda’s hybrid-powered supercar rounds the Nürburgring faster than the Nissan. Apparently the upcoming and also hybrid powered Porsche 918 Spyder was of less interest to the Japanese ‒ Mizuno didn’t seem very impressed when asked about the upcoming German supercar. Because the launch of the new GT-R (R36) is still six years from now, the current model will be overhauled by the end of next year. The upgrade will feature a redesigned bumper and lights, as well as an upgraded powertrain. The upgrade will mark the GT-R’s sixth year of production.(gtspirit)

Honda KT600 Bike By Classified Moto

Made from a mix of parts from different bikes, the Honda KT600 by Classified Moto is a wonder vehicle. The bike was commissioned by Battlestar Galactica actress Katee Sackhoff, who gave master craftsman John Ryland and his team 100% creative freedom in creating one of the most superb bikes yet. Parts used to make this vehicle include the front end of a Kawasaki ZX6-R, the back end of a 2006 Triumph Sprint, as well as the addition of an aluminum lower mount for the shock. The starting point for the vehicle was a custom 1987 Honda XL600R, and having it transformed into the Honda KT600 is truly incredible.

Bentley Barnato Roadster Concept

The Bentley Barnato Roadster is a concept designed by Ben Knapp Voith while attending an 8-month design internship at Bentley. It is a modern interpretation of what the 1920s Bentley Boys would be racing if they were around today. Ben´s tribute was inspired by Bentley´s early cars but also the gracious curves of the R-Type Continental. The end result is a stylish contemporary car with self-evident attention to detail.

2015 Audi Quattro Coupe

Volkswagen-owned Audi is preparing to launch a heir to the race-winning Quattro of the early 1980s, a report out of Germany indicates. Price-wise the car will fill the crevasse between the TT and the R8 but aesthetically it will lie somewhere between the A5 and the Q5. Loosely inspired by the Quattro Concept that bowed at the 2010 Paris Motor Show, the upcoming coupe will have short overhangs, a completely flat roof and several hood-mounted air vents reminiscent of the original Quattro coupe’s vents. An anonymous source told Germany’s Auto Bild that the car will be powered by a supercharged five-cylinder engine that will propel it from zero to 62 mph in a little over four seconds. Audi will equip the coupe with a dual-clutch S-Tronic gearbox that will quite evidently send power to all four wheels. If the rumor is true, the Quattro is in the early stages of development and it is dubbed Q35 internally. Auto Bild speculates that the 35 means the car’s launch will coincide with the original Quattro’s 35th birthday in 2015. Introduced in 1980, the original Quattro was developed to compete in the Group B category of rally racing. It was the first Group B car to feature all-wheel drive, a setup that was not allowed prior to 1979. The innovative system enabled Audi to capture first place overall in 1982 and 1984. (leftlanenews)

Girard-Perregaux has lanched the new ww.tc Chrongraph. This watch displays all time zones on its dial, and includes the date, small seconds, a chronograph function, and a day/night indicator. To make all of these details legible, the ww.tc’s dial makes use of accentuated color contrasts. The steel case has a diameter of 44mm and contains a Manufacture GP033C0 movement combining a chronograph and world time indicator. The ww.tc Chronograph retails for $16,800.

1971 Flat Cat Stealth Black Jaguar XK-E

Sporting the same blacked out color scheme as the recently featured Camaro Street Fighter, don’t let the beauty of this 1971 Matte Black Jaguar XK-E  fool you as this vehicle is most definitely a beast. Ditching the standard V12 from the 1971 E-Type, Ken “Posies” Fenical threw a more favorable small block Chevy V8 in this car, a ZZ383 crate engine by GM Performance parts to be exact. The vehicle was built for autocross, and competes regularly putting down 311 horsepower and 370 lb-ft of torque to the rear wheels through a Tremec five speed gearbox. The vehicle was given the nickname ‘Flat Cat’ due to the DP50 flat black epoxy PPG paint job. The 18 inch gloss black Dayton wire wheels provide the perfect finishing touch.

The Cult Debut "Honey From A Knife" Video

"Honey From A Knife", the new video from The Cult, can be seen below. Directed by Rick Rodgers and produced by The Cult's Ian Astbury and New York City-based film company Mechanizedmules, the clip was shot on location in the Washington Heights neighborhood of Manhattan on a RED Scarlet camera with Super Speed lenses provided by ARRI. "Honey From A Knife", rooted in the seductiveness of addiction, was inspired by the following Buddhist precept, and Astbury states that the accompanying film reveals a "desperate descent into a fractured psyche": "Wealth and beauty, to a man who will not relinquish them, are like a knife covered with honey which, even before he has had the pleasure of eating the honey, cuts the tongue of the child that licks it."

Eli Roth Plans On Making "Thanksgiving" Trailer Into A Movie

Writer/Director Eli Roth is teaming up with Clown scribes Jon Watts and Christopher D. Ford to develop the holiday horror Thanksgiving. The idea was originally introduced as a fake trailer before Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino's horror double feature Grindhouse. The director was interviewed recently and confirmed that he is was moving forward with the project. "It's gonna happen. I'm working with the Clown writers on it. We finally cracked the story and figured out how to make it really, really scary, and a reason to do it. Before Jon starts shooting Clown he has a window". Eli Roth has also been making his rounds promoting his new Vegas attraction The Goretorium, which opens in September. Thanksgiving comes to theaters in 2012.

Commercials Director Adam Berg Remaking Cronenberg's "Videodrome"

Universal has reportedly found a director for their long-planned Videodrome remake. Deadline reports that commercials director Adam Berg will make his feature film directing debut with the remake of the 1983 classic directed by David Cronenberg. The original, a commentary on the growing saturation of new media, starred James Woods as the head of Civic TV Channel 83 who makes his station relevant by programming "Videodrome," a series that depicts torture and murder, transfixing viewers. When the project was first announced, it was said that the tale will be modernized, focusing on nanotechnology and play out as a large-scale sci-fi action thriller. Ehren Kruger, the screenwriter behind the two most recent Transformers films, will write the script and produce with partner Daniel Bobker. Rene Malo is attached to executive produce. Dupli Dos House In Ibiza, Spain

 

Located in Ibiza, Spain, and designed by Juma Architects of Belgium, the Dupli Dos residence features jaw-dropping views of the Mediterranean. The house actually began as two separate duplexes that they merged together to form the four-bedroom, four-bathroom house that it is today.
